Our city comes alive this month with the Watpac Townsville 400 Supercars and vibrant events like Strand Ephemera 2017, the North’s Sculpture Festival and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music.
There’s something for everybody and to find out more visit the What’s On website.

LAST month, I delivered the 2017-18 budget and announced changes to our waste management services.
Free dump vouchers have been replaced with free green waste dumping.

You can now dump green waste for free all year around at all the city’s landfills and transfer stations.
You will also be able to take advantage of an extra free dumping weekend in addition to the usual free long weekend in October prior to the cyclone season.

Water security and our city’s water supply continues to take priority and with funding in the budget for pumping of water from the Burdekin, combined with reserves in the dams and Level 3 water restrictions, we have a water supply to take us into next year.

Many of you have been training hard over the past few months and are participating in Excercise Talisman Sabre 2017 throughout July.
We wish you all the best with this training exercise.
